Lisa Windus majored in Metal Smithing/Jewelry Design and graduated in 1987 with a BFA degree from Philadelphia College of the Arts. Between 1988 and 1992, she traveled extensively in Asia-Pacific as well as Africa and Europe. It was while in Japan the she learned to create sculptural forms with the colorfully patterned Japanese papers that are incorporated into her work.
Her jewelry and paper art has been exhibited in Japan, Australia and throughout the U.S. including the ACC "American Craft at the Armory" (New York, NY).  Ms. Windus currently teaches in New York City and continues to create three-dimensional, modular origami paper constructions. She recently was included in "Artistic Fragments: Art 2005", a tri-state juried show at the Katonah Museum of Art (Katonah, NY).

In my work, I hope to create a harmony between tradition and innovation.
